Coward bullies still gallivanting

As Voreqe Bainimarama once again gallivant to meetings that he has no business or intellectual capacity to attend, his goons back at home continue to intimidate those who oppose their military regime because they know that these voices from the PEOPLE is the REAL voice of Fiji, NOT their bullying voices echoed from the shots of their guns.

Even if the regime feel threatened by the impending Methodist gathering, we think the church leaders should never be intimidated. Afterall, if they believe that God is on their side, then God's peace and His Strength will guide them.

If church leaders can do it in Kenya, then Fiji's God's warriors should be able to as well.

However, our leaders must take advantage of our PEACEFUL nature to not incite violence as in the case in Kenya because

WE CAN DO IT PEACEFULLY! LET THE ONES WITH GUNS DO THE SHOOTING OR KILLING, NOT US!

Basic food shortage in Labasa: Watchdog

Is this more to do with the fact that people are getting worried of not having enough food in the future rather than the excuse given here by Padarath?

Our very own Zimbabwe scenario unfolds in our very eyes and the authorities are worried about hoarding?

We sincerely wish that this shortage is like what the authorities are saying, our unscrupulous traders getting themselves prepared for any future circumstances, and that they will be on the look-out for them, AND not anything more than that.

But we are being pessimistic about this because this seems like the beginning of RATION LINES to us!

God forbid this happens, but it may have to come to people starving and lying in the streets dying from starvation for this illegal regime to realise the catastrophic consequences of their holier-than-thou complexes.

Roxana Saberi - a symbol of media freedom

The arrest and recent release of Roxana is for me a symbol of how vulnerable our media personnel is, to whims and callous ways overbearing and dictatorial governments can be.

As clearly explained in this paragraph, 'Saberi's arrest demonstrated the unpredictability of Iran's fragmented, multilayered political and security system, where dissidents, politicians and journalists are sometimes arrested for transgressing undefined ideological and national security rules, such as by having contact with the West.'

But it is most importantly a symbol that freedom is our most valuable possession. However, Roxana didn't just get it free-nilly, she also worked for it by staging her own

HUNGER PROTEST

to protest her innocence, gain the world's support and ultimately HER FREEDOM!

A lesson to us Fijians, the world can only do so much, but they will only FORGE FORWARD FORCEFULLY but NONVIOLENTLY WHEN WE DO OUR PART TO PEACEFULLY PROTEST IN THE PUBLIC ARENA!
