Indecent tactic by military regime to make budget work - 'Long prodding stick' to push budget plan

The indecent act of the military regime to steal and destroy our democracy continues with their stupid analogy of using a 'LONG PRODDING STICK' to manage the budget they have just prepared. All talk, we say. It's the RESULTS AND ACTIONS that matter.

A unit in the Prime Minister’s Office has been given the task of ensuring the public service puts the Government’s budget plans to work.

“We got the long prodding stick to ensure people keep moving,” said Lieutenant Colonel Pio Tikoduadua, the permanent secretary in the PM’s Office, while addressing members of the private sector at the Post 2010 Budget Forum today.

“It is a challenge, but we’re working very hard through certain initiatives and reforms to help shape the attitude of the public service to be able to execute government’s intentions.”

IF YOU GAIN THE TRUST OF THE PEOPLE, THEN YOU WILL NOT NEED UNNECESSARY UNITS AS SUCH TO POLICE THE SERVICES THAT TRAINED CIVIL SERVANTS HAVE BEEN TASKED WITH.

Lt-Col Tikoduadua said chief executives officers of Government ministries and departments, the permanent secretaries, will be meeting on Monday to rehash the 2010 Budget, which has been applauded by many.

WHO'S THE MANY?

“This will be the first time where we will perhaps put in the more intimate details of what will go into their corporate plans and strategic plans that looks forward to 2012.”

FIRST TIME??? SO WHAT HAVE YOU ALL BEEN DOING THE LAST TWO/THREE YEARS OF BUDGET MAKING?

Lt-Col Tikoduadua gave the assurance after the private sector raised concerns on the implementation of the “well thought-out” budget.

“The implementers, the second government, could frustrate this process,” said Nur Bhano Ali, the president of the Suva Chamber of Commerce.

“But, overall, well done, good plans, but let’s get the civil service to rally behind it.”

Lt-Col Tikoduadua agreed that it is critical to set the proper environment so that the “second government” can do its job.

“Through that unit in the PM’s Office, we will ensure that policies are implemented,” he said.

YOU SEE AGAIN VOREQE AND COHORTS, CHANGE JUST DOESN’T HAPPEN AT YOUR WHIM. YOU MUST HAVE THE RESPECT OF THOSE YOU WANT TO CHANGE TO BE ABLE TO MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN. IT’S A SIMPLE SOCIAL ASPECT OF CHANGE. BUT OF COURSE, YOU, REGIME MEMBERS WON’T KNOW THAT BECAUSE YOU ONLY BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF YOUR GUNS TO MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN.

ALL THESE UNITS WITHIN UNITS IS JUST A WASTE OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND TIME, AND COULD BE BETTER UTILIZED ON PREPARING FOR ELECTIONS, WHICH IS THE FIRST VEHICLE THAT WILL BRING ABOUT CHANGE BECAUSE IT IS DEMOCRATIC, IT’S INCLUSIVE AND IT’S DECISION MAKING BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaum urged the business people to work with Government and not make negative comments from the sideline.

“Let’s move away from that attitude of talking about things in your own groups, but let us know - perhaps you may not like the response but please do not give up trying.

“This Government has the will to make changes and make things better.

OH MY, IF YOU WERE ALL LEGITIMATE ENTITIES YOU WOULDN’T BE TOO WORRIED BY PRE-EMPTING THOSE WHO WANT TO COMMENT TO MAKE THEIR COMMENTS. IT’S THEIR RIGHT, BUT OF COURSE FOR THE BULLIES YOU ALL ARE, YOU HAVE TO IMPLEMENT THE P.E.R FOR A PROLONG PERIOD OF TIME BECAUSE IT IS YOUR ONLY BLANKET TO ALLOW YOU TO CONTINUE WITH YOUR DICTATORSHIP.

“I think we have the right attitude, particularly the PM, to see this through. The prime minister has a 01 text number. You dial that and your concerns will appear on his phone,” he said.

RIGHT ATTITUDE MY FOOT! LET’S GO RAGONE! TEXT MAI! TEXT MAI! SHOW VOREQE YOUR CONCERNS FOR HIS BARBARIC, DICTATORSHIP, TYRANNT ACTIONS!!!! AND GET AN ANNONYMOUS NUMBER B4 YOU TEXT, YARR!!!
